This glowing smoothie is designed to help you stay energized throughout the day, without any afternoon fatigue. Besides being a multivitamin in a glass, this green drink is packed with antioxidants which help fight the signs of aging within the body. It is made with 70 percent green veggies and 30 percent fruit.
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 head organic romaine lettuce, chopped
- 3 to 4 stalks organic celery
- 1/2 head of a large bunch or 3/4 of a small bunch of spinach
- 1 organic apple, cored and chopped
- 1 organic pear, cored and chopped
- 1 organic banana
- Juice of 1/2 fresh organic lemon
Optional: 1/3 bunch organic cilantro (stems OK) and 1/3 bunch organic parsley (stems OK) or 1 scoop of green supplement powder
Add liquid first, then fruits and veggies. Blend, stop, stir, and blend again until smooth.
This yields three 16-ounce servings. Each serving contains 154 calories, 10.5 g of fiber, and 5 g of protein.
